A/FD scratchboard
Here is another scratchboard I recently finished up. I will have prints available at torque fest http://vintagetorquefest.com/ It is a great car show that has many great activities going on for the whole family and a great art show to boot!! John Wells hosts this amazing get together of hot rods/motorcycles from all around and everyone leaves with a smile on their face. I can't wait for this weekend. It is always a good time to meet old friends and make new ones. I set up my art booth and sell prints and limited original artwork as well. Artists get to help out with his daughters charity by making a design/artwork on a picked item each year. This year is the surfboard. We were given a blank metal board and left to do what we wanted. I tried to mimic a scratchboard design with two colors instead of one. I like the simplicity of it. Hope you enjoy. If you've never been to this show, try it out, you won't be disappointed!! 36 Ford Scratchboard
Kevin Anderson owns this amazing 36 Ford. It is one of my favorite models of cars, meaning a lot considering I'm a Mopar man. It is so smooth looking, I have been wanting to do something with it for awhile now. They have such great body lines and look good as tail draggers or not. Just one more thing to add to my bucket list. It is done 9"x12". If he doesn't see it here first, he may be suprised to see it at a show coming up that I'll be vending my art at. I always like to surprise people with custom art of their own vehicle. Hope you enjoy it. Nate Grice
I'll be vending at Torque Fest this year coming up in May from the 3rd - 5th. Come to Iowa and check it out. Its a great show!!!

Erie fireman commission pencil drawing
Here is my latest pencil drawing. I was contacted to do a commission of a firefighter and his dog in front of a burning house. It was left to me to do the rest. She wanted me to incorporate an American flag if possible, so I made his helmet one. It came out great. I have never tried drawing fire before with pencil and to make it all work together, took time. I have about 30 hours in this drawing. There are many small details that can be seen after studying it. I had fun doing this one. This is one of my "firefighter" drawings I have been commissioned to do. Check out my previous ones on older blog posts. Nate Grice
Thanks Ericka!!

Tom Dunn "Pencil Drawing"
This is a 11"x14" pencil drawing of Tom Dunn, the famous driver doing his thing from the hey-days of racing. I still have a passion for front engine dragsters and can't get enough of them. I wanted to do another pencil drawing to depict motion. I had fun doing this one, and finished it just in time for Iron Invasion this fall. I have prints as well as the original for sale if interested. I hope to get to some nostalgic events next year to see some more of these pieces of history and get more inspiration for new artwork. Hope you enjoy, Nate Grice
Champagne Taste Scratchboard
Here is another 9"x12" scratchboard that I did this late summer. It is Dorr Johnson’s wickedly cool ’30 Ford coupe. I have seen this beautiful ride at many shows and finally took some time to do some art of it. I hope the original can get to his hands in the future. I have prints available also of this, up to 13"x19" in high quality giclee ink. The car is a gold color with matching painted rims. It's a very clean hotrod that is appreciated by many!! Here is a link to the article in Street Rodder about it. http://www.streetrodderweb.com/features/1112sr_1930_ford_coupe/viewall.html

Rat Fink "Army Rat"
Torque Fest this spring had a charity drive that asked artists to try their own spin on the famous Rat Fink. He is typically green with a red shirt with initials R.F. on the front of it. I decided to do something different. These started out as plain aluminum blanks and I went from there. It was auctioned off at the show and raised money for his foundation, Helping Hannah's Heart. I have done something for John Wells each year, and hope to continue in the future. It is a great cause and he puts on a great show as well. I recently was an art vendor at his Iron Invasion show in Woodstock in October. Nate Grice
"Bar Hopper" Scratchboard
This is a 9"x12" scratchboard I did of a bar hopper bike. I wanted to try something different and test my skills and went for a custom fish scale tank "paint" treatment. It turned out awesome!! I have the original for sale still if your interested as well as prints. Just email me for details. I will hopefully do some more bike scratches this winter in my downtime. I have been working on a garage addition all summer so I haven't had time to work on much art. Hope posting these forgotten pieces gets you by for now. Nate Grice
